Having grown up on a farm, we believe that it is important for all children to have the opportunity to be exposed to agriculture. Everyone should know where corn and pumpkins come from.
The 10 acre cornfield has more than three miles of trails cut into it and it takes roughly 45 minutes to an hour to complete.
When students arrive at the MAiZE, they will be briefed on the maze and how it is planted and cut and will then be given educational "Passports" to help guide them through the corny confusion that is the MAiZE. This guide will help them find the correct path to complete the maze more quickly depending on their knowledge of agriculture.
Field Trip Admission is $6.50 per person. One teacher or chaperone is required for every 10 students. Each field trip takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
We are open to all public & private schools as well as home school groups. All groups must stay together.
Picnic areas require advance reservations.
Hands-on learning experiences are always best when students have been prepared for what they are about to encounter and are able to then discuss what they learned afterwards.
We are pleased to offer our Classroom in the Corn Learning Series to make your field trip more exciting and memorable, as well as a better learning experience. These Teacher Resource Guides are broken into separate grade ranges and each include: activity goals, National Curriculum Standards, preparation required, materials needed, worksheets, and step-by-step instructions.
